Mulilo Danish Vocational Education & Training Program in Maintenance Technology
The goal of the Program is to provide students with
-
- knowledge about common electrical and plumbing-based systems and installations - and their maintenance in accordance with Danish and European standards & practices within residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- basic practical workshop skills and experience in application of this knowledge to building, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance operations on relevant installation types.
The knowledge, skills, and competencies obtained from completing the program will enable the student to work (and supervise, guide & inspire others) as a skilled Assistant Maintenance Technology Operator for Energy Systems in companies or organizations - for performing or assisting in maintenance of residential, commercial or industrial electrical, water & sanitation, heating, cooling and ventilation systems/installations – or as an independent maintenance service provider for similar (small-scale) systems in mainly residential/commercial settings.
Program Structure & Learning Outcomes
The full program duration is 9 1/2 months, which include a 1-week introduction session in Pretoria, South Africa, and 37 weeks’ subsequent full-time education and workshop-based vocational training at the Techcollege main campus in Aalborg, DK. These also include a continuous (4 weeks in total) modular program element in Personal Growth & Leadership, provided jointly for all Mulilo Danish Vocational Program (MDVP) tracks at Techcollege.
Upon program completion, students receive a Techcollege Diploma, confirming the achieved non-formal vocational competency as Assistant Maintenance Technology Operator for Energy Systems, based on completion of app. 75% of a full curriculum for a maintenance-specific 75/25 hybrid of the Danish Electrician and Plumber vocational educations (excl. work practise).
